We, as healthcare providers, are aware that you have many options available when it comes to the choice of your provider. We acknowledge and appreciate your continued choice to have us provide services for your dental health.
Kevin G. Murphy & Associates, PA has made the practice decision not to participate in any insurance plans as an in-network provider. There are many reasons for this decision; however ultimately we are a fee-for-service, out-of-network dental provider which means the patient is responsible for paying their balance in full at the time of service. That being said, our office made the decision to extend a generous courtesy to our patients by filing their insurance claims electronically and manually, providing all necessary information. This means that patients receive reimbursement directly from their insurance company.
Often, we also advocate for our patients in order to ensure our patients are being reimbursed. Claims are sent out on the date of service and we have a system that ensures that no claims are missed. Being an out-of-network provider, once a claim leaves our practice, we have no way of knowing the outcome of reimbursement unless the patient informs us of an issue or we receive specific communication from the insurance company itself.
Again, while we are choosing to provide the courtesy of submitting insurance claims, the responsibility of payment and following up with the insurance company ultimately falls to the covered party. We often suggest that patients contact their insurance company a couple of weeks following their appointment to make sure the claim was received and is in process.
Patient Payment Policy
As it is our practice’s policy to receive payment in full at the time of service and prior to treatment completion, we do have payment options for treatment extending over a period of time. Once dental treatment has begun, changes in the anticipated treatment plan may be required depending on oral conditions encountered. We will make every effort to inform you if this occurs and you will be given the option of continuing or changing your course of treatment.
Option 1: Payment in full by cash or check at your first scheduled appointment.
A 5% Courtesy will be given if treatment is paid IN FULL by cash/check at the FIRST VISIT.
Option2: Payment in full by credit card at the time of your appointment.
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
Option 3: Short Term In-House Financing.
As a benefit to our patients we offer a short-term, interest-free payment plan. This option is reserved for patients who have treatment with multiple appointments extending over a short period of time and must be secured by a credit card on file, billed monthly. It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes in your card information and if, for any reason your payment is delayed, the entire balance of your account will become due immediately and you will be responsible for any fee’s associated with a collection account.
Option 4: Extended Payment Plan through 3rd Party Financing.
We have partnered with CareCredit which allows for convenient monthly payments over longer periods of time, subject to availability and approval. Please contact the office regarding the application process.
